State aided public housing and Federal public housing includes actual income derived from asset or current percentage of assigned value, as part of annual income.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE ELDERY/HANDICAPPED?

Elderly/Handicapped is defined as a person who is at least 62 years of age for Federally aided housing and 60 years of age for State aided housing and/or a person having a physical or mental impairment.

DO YOU PARTICIPATE IN THE CENTRALIZED SECTION 8 WAITING LIST?

Yes, See the Documents Tab to download a Pre-Application.

WHEREN AM I ON THE WAITLIST?

We are unable to provide you a number of where you are on our waitlist or a time estimate.

We can confirm that you are on the waitlist and if your application has been pulled for processing

WHY CAN YOU NOT TELL ME WHERE I AM ON THE WAITLIST?

The statewide centralized waitlists can change daily depending on emergency applications and preferences. The statewide waitlists are still new and do not have enough data to project an estimated wait time for applicants.

CAN YOU TELL ME IF I AM AN EMERGENCY?

We can tell you if you are listed as an emergency on the waitlist. All emergencies are verified by the Housing Authority at the time the application is pulled from the waitlist. Applications may not meet the state and federal criteria for claiming emergency status and will be placed back on the waitlist as a standard application.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY APPLICATION?

Yes. We encourage all applicants to manager their own application in the CHAMP waitlist system.

WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE THE HOUSING AUTHORITY TO SEE IF I HAVE AN APPLICATION OF FILE?

You must have your Date of Birth and Social Security number if applicable.

HOW LONG DOES ITI TAKE TO GET A RESPONSE FROM THE HOUSING AUTHORITY IF I CALL TO SEE IF I AM ON THE WAITLIST?

Due to the unusually high number of waitlist status calls at this time all calls received will be returned on Thursdays only.
